This is a very helpful book for beginning and seasoned speech therapists alike. It includes multiple ways to elicit a sound as well as therapy ideas. I have found this particularly helpful for a quick guide to help move me in the right direction. Its a great addition to my therapy materials library. :D
Although a relatively decent compilation of techniques in one place, this book doesn't contain much in the way of little-known tips that might be new to you. Also, many of the suggestions are very vague, recommending you do something "in several different ways" but not telling you what those ways might be.
I bought this book thinking it would have some "down to earth" recommendations and suggestions for correcting sounds. It ended up that there was too much narration of how sounds are produced, information that SLPs should already know.
Great resource. This will fill in the holes in "how to" for articulation that they don't teach you in grad school. You will use it all the time your first year, and will continue to refer to it for many years after that. Highly recommend!
This material is very useful to the speech therapist in training as well as the experienced therapist working with children and adults. The authors have provided a clear and concise description of each sound and its production with elicitation techniques galore. This book is invaluable to the practicing speech therapist.
As an SLP graduate student (soon to be working in the schools full time after graduation!!) this book has been invaluable!! There are multiple suggestions on how to elicit all the English language sounds including vowels! I highly recommend to anyone who will be working with articulation kids!
I use this daily with clients for eliciting sounds and have had many successes! I love having this small book around to reference as needed. I can't recommend this enough for grad students and current SLP's alike.
Very useful and user-friendly. Definitely a resource every speech pathologist should own. The companion software (blue case/cover) by Secord would be a great digital version. I would not buy both because they are almost identical, but get the digital version if you prefer paperless.
