This book is very well written, well researched, and the subjects covered are broad. It seems to compliment the instructor in my class very well. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is a lack of perspective re sustainability, i.e., human kind keeps surviving disasters, endemics, disease, etc., only to increase in population. At some point, the population will no longer be sustainable. While there are certain resources that are in limited supply today, I believe the book should have explored those resources that have the capability to be significant in terms of population limiting - now and in a future tense.

This book is a easy read & gives a good break down in each chapter. My professor used the discussion questions at the end of each chapter & those were a killer. Those question require further research outside of the book. I didn't like that at all!

I bought the digital version because I was going to be traveling. I wonder if the illustrations, figures, tables, etc. are any good. I'll never know because most of them do not load on the Kindle reader. At least with a physical book, I could sell it to get my money back when I'm done. I will be highly skeptical of any digital textbook in the future.

This is the text book we used for our graduate level environmental and occupational health course. I was dreading this textbook because it is so large, and I was not looking forward to the course, I thought it was going to be SO boring. However, this textbook is excellent! It's well written, easy to read, and each chapter is organized well. I actually really enjoyed this textbook, and I'm not usually a textbook lover.

Just like many of the other reviews, this book will change your perspective about how you see your country and your environment. At first, I did not find interest in the text, yet gradually reading I found myself intrigue and thinking about my own environment. This book is very informative and will allow you have the environmental knowledge that you and many others deserve to have. Eye-opening and lovely in every way. This is a must read book. I will be reading this book a second time...and possibly a third time.

This book is interesting but pretty dry in reading. There are some very interesting points made throughout however. The chapters have many supplemental stories to go along and explain concepts further.

Perfect use of rental books. Just what I need for one semester and its going right back.

Great quality book. Covers a wide range of environmental health issues. Works best as an overview, but does provide substantial detail on legislation, real-life examples, etc.
