This book is a great guide to goniometry. I especially love the Appendix that has all the normal values. It's a must have for anyone starting out in physical therapy.
This textbook was required for an assessment class for a physical therapist assistant program. It is thorough in explanations of position, alignment, stabilization, etc. and provides photographs of the different motions being measured. I would recommend it as a guide to learn how to measure joint motion.
I thought this book would be really dry, but I breaks down how I am supposed to measure joints nicely. I am using for a class in school and it's very helpful for my field of study (occupational therapy).
This book is helpful because there are actual photographs that show you how to measure various ROM's. No confusing drawings. just pictures. So helpful. They also do a great job of summarizing the most important tips for each joint (i.e. normal ROM's, where to place the goni, etc.)
The book is very thorough and has many nice pictures demonstrating how to measure the joints. Noticed one error that prof corrected for us, picture showed goni being used incorrectly. Overall, good - required for class.
required text for the class. easy enough to understand but kinda not needed at all with your teacher in the classroom. ok as a study reference.
This books helps you to appreciate the importance of normal ROM when facing with different pt conditions. I open it once in while,because sometimes I forget the normal ROM..:)
