As previously stated in other reviews, this "textbook" is a glorified magazine that costs over a $100 brand new.It does have some great information in it, but it's just not worth the money. At least when I buy my Calculus and Physics books for $300, I know I'm getting $300 worth of hard-cover-bound pages full of formulas and theorems I can reference back on over time.This "textbook" will be useless after the course is finished.Also, LLC will ship it in a padded yellow envelope, and it will most likely not look "Brand New" when it gets to you. Mine wasn't even shrink-wrapped.
I expected this book to read like a typical dry uninteresting text book. but I was wrong. The chapters were engaging, the topics fresh and throughout there are many real world examples. this is the first time i've ever finished every chapter of assigned reading.
The book, as other's mentioned is a bit thicker than a special edition TIME magazine. Definitely not worth all the money. You could learn the same from a paperback guidebook for $25. I'm disappointed that it's required from my professor.
A really well-organized textbook. It had a few annoying anecdotes written by someone with an obvious political or social agenda, but these were easily identified and discarded by a knowledgeable professor and serious senior-level students.
My Ethics professor has been using this textbook for years to teach her ethics class, and I can understand why. Everything made sense, and the topics discussed throughout were very engaging and informative. I will be keeping this book for reference, as I work to complete my degree in business finance.
I ordered this book and double-checked about 4 times that the isbn was correct and received it in a timely fashion. However, I became confused when the picture on the front was different than that of my order. It was called the same thing. There were, however, stickers all over the book that say several varieties of "used book" and two of them quite inconspicuously covered a fake "sticker" on the label clearly denoting it as the international version to be used outside the U.S. So I checked inside the cover and the sticker label still says the U.S. version's isbn - but the book itself does not. Of course, it's the int'l isbn.I was pretty annoyed about this but fortunately I didn't pay much for it. I'm hoping they are very similar (identical would be nice) and that I don't do the wrong problems.The plus side is that I sent a rather annoyed email to the company and heard back from them within a couple hours. The offered a full refund plus shipping, but couldn't send me the real version because they were out. I am not going to return it. It's not the worst thing ever, it's just a little annoying is all.
This book has exceeded my expectations. This book was easy to understand and makes practical applications to help me to apply this information in a very skillful manner.
