This book is a must-have for anyone doing research using applied econometrics. I've had older editions for years, and I refer to this book regularly for my research in health economics and health care policy. I bought the new edition, because I read there were new datasets added. I'm hoping to try some out in my teaching for next fall. I post an update on that.
Too wordy. It could be very tiring simply to read the context, let alone trying to understand the econometric concepts. The same information could be conveyed in a much more precise and comprehensive fashion.
Extremely wordy. This book takes an already challenging subject and makes it even harder to comprehend. The readability of this book was awful.
