This is an excellent review for the NREMT exam for EMT-B certification. It is well organized, helps you pinpoint areas where you need to study more, and is written very much like the actual test. The questions in these practice tests are much more difficult than those found in online practice tests, which tend to be over-simplified. Just as important, this book is from an authoritative source; I found some answers in the online sources which were just plain wrong. The NREMT exam is as much about test-taking ability as it is about subject matter knowledge, and that's where this book really helps. In particular, there are many questions on the actual exam where the choices contain information which looks very simple at first glance, but which in fact contains very subtle differences. The questions in this book give you those types of choices, and train you to read each question carefully looking for those nuances which are the difference between a right answer and a wrong answer.Your first time through the questions in this book may be a wake-up call if you don't really know your stuff. But it's better to get a wake-up call before the test, rather than during the test. I passed on the first try. Good luck!

All that needs to be said is that this is the only EMT-Basic review book you will ever need. All others books are just a waste of time and money. The reason is because the questions in this book closely resemble what you will see on the national exam. If you want to pass the national test buy this book and read your EMT-Basic text book from front to back and you will almost certainly pass.

This book would have been great six years ago. It is way too simple to properly prepare you for the test now, and it doesn't contain a lot of the information that you will be seeing on the test they are currently giving. Get something more up to date that includes reviews on weapons of mass destruction and other hazardous materials. This what what I used to study when I challenged the test to get my card back, and I was very unpleasantly surprised to find out that this book was pretty much useless when I failed my test.

I wanted test prep questions w/explanations of the answers, and this served me well. The questions were harder than those in my text book, so the difficulty of the written test were not a shock. The NREMT questions are a bit harder, but I would be hard put to say that I would have passed the first time had I not used this as prep. Be aware, there are a couple of dated questions, but I found them easy to spot. This book identified the two sections in which I was not doing as well as I wanted, so I could concentrate my studies on my areas of weakness.

This book was critical in helping me study for my EMT-b. The questions were very close to what I ended up seeing on the New Hampshire test and it actually explains each right AND wrong answer, so it's not just a TEST tool but a real STUDY tool. I loaned it to fellow students who begged me for it because they too saw the potential. Though I don't see myself actually going into the EMT field, if I want to renew my certificate, then I feel that I'll open this book again and will be very prepared.

This is the closest to the NR that I've seen (I haven't seen them all) but despite its small size it had the best content.

This was suggested for my sister to pass the NREMT exam. It apparently served to be extremely helpful. I perused through just to get an idea while she was not using it and it covered hard core topics.

This book outlines the areas of EMT testing at both State and National Level. It's a sure way to review all the areas that will be covered on the exams. I highly recommend it for anyone just out of school or preparing for certification.
