Some books I've read in the past are too basic. This one is reasonably complex, but not overly complicated. If you're a new nurse or just a few years out of school and you want to dig deeper into ER nursing, then this book is great. If you are already advanced in your experience, then this book might not be technical enough. It's a good resource to keep any ER nurse sharp though.
I am an emergency room RN of 1 year and purchased this book for my ipad. I like it because it is a quick review of signs/symptoms, assessment, diagnostics, and interventions for numerous diseases and processes. I would like it even more if it gave explanations for some of the interventions and diagnostics. I do suggest it for any new RN in the emergency room.
Using this book for CEN review. Good info. Easy to follow, to the point . Was recommended by fellow CEN test taker.
I have several books regarding ER care, including my TNCC book. This is the best book I've ever read. LOVE IT!!
Love, love, love this book. Having never worked in the ED, only ICU and Cath LAb, This is a concise book that gives you what you need. Great for reviewing for the CEN test.
Easy to read; to the point format. Not very detailed in pathophysiology but nevertheless a good manual to study from.
This is an excellently concise book of the broad subject that is Emergency Nursing. Great Book.I will add that I would recommend the ICU Book as a supplement. This is the quick and dirty, the ICU book has some great detail that benefits an ER Nurses practice.
Excellent resource, use it as a "bible". Many improvements over the previous edition. Love new format. Useful addition for any practicing nurse.
