The PMP Pocket Guide provides a very succinct way to present a very large topic and covers the key points that should be at your fingertips when studying for PMP. Overall, I found it to be a great reference when needing to dig deeper on a certain process group or reacquaint myself with formulas or methods to find critical paths. Belinda is a tremendous teacher and brings into focus "Common ITTOs" and important sequences on pages 10-11 that would take you many hours to extract when reading the whole PMBOK Guide. Whether you're looking at a knowledge area or trying to get comfortable with taking the exam (sections on Dump Sheet, Exam Tips and Exam Day Experience), I would highly recommend this guide.Mark Rosenberg, Medical Device SW Project Manager
This guide is a great, comprehensive tool for PMP exam prep! I specifically referred frequently to the knowledge area/process group chart on p. 2/3 to help me organize the lessons. The illustrations of important sequences to remember also helped me a lot in my studying. Also provided is a recommended dump sheet, which was very helpful for the exam and easy to memorize using this tool. Belinda also gives some great exam tips and preparation info in this pocket guide, which eases the exam anxiety. Overall a great product that was essential in my exam prep!
Amazingly thorough reference! Great tool for studying to take the PMP test. Contains helpful charts and illustrations (especially p11) that put the PMBOK terms into real life scenarios and make it easy to understand and remember. Great explanation of the Critical Path Method (p18) and visual to remember for your "dump sheet" (which is provided on p23). This is book is an excellent resource to supplement your PMP study!
This pocket guide is a concise and easy to use reference guide with all the essential cheat sheets needed to study for the PMP exam.The condensed view of the information on ITTOs is very helpful. It is a much better way to review this information than the flash card approach I used. It is helpful to become familiar with the terminology used for ITTOs and the logic behind these. Also following the recommendation on creating a dump sheet is right on. Understanding and memorizing these formulas and writing these down before the exam is essential and the information provided in the pocket guide is exactly what you need to know. You can practice creating your own dump sheet using the information on page 23.
I have transitioned to a new career and I have been away from pure project management for two years, however, this "must have" guide successfully turned on all the right light bulbs and cleared the cobwebs in my head! Once again, Belinda is able to cut through mounds of information and clearly communicate the most important PM elements. Whether you're studying for the PMP exam or just want a quick refresher (i.e. definition, explanation, diagram) to move you forward, this is the guide for you. My favorite part of this guide (and artifact from Belinda's PMP Prep class) is the DUMP SHEET on page 23.
Belinda Fremouw’s PMP Pocket Guide is a great summary of the key information needed for the PMP exam. After teaching the PMP prep course for many years, Belinda has been able to condense the overwhelming information from the PMBOK Guide into just a few pages. As you approach exam date, your brain is pretty saturated so this Pocket Guide is a useful reference to review all of the PMP terminology, processes, knowledge areas, and formulas. I found it especially useful to review the inputs, outputs, and tools & techniques for each process. PMP exam preparation is quite a journey and this pocket guide helps bring you to the finish line.
This guide provides a very clear and direct explanation of project management principles and guidelines, which will be encountered in the PMP exam.
