I bought this book about a month before I went to sit for my certification test. This book makes it very easy to review med-surg topics. It outlines each topic with key points to make it easy to focus on the important key notes. Each chapter also has a review test at the end that is helpful and at the end of the book it has a overall comprehensive test that helps to see how ready you are to take the certification exam. This book was very helpful for me and I passed my certification the first time!
Brought this book and the ancc review book!! This book gives you a little more depth than the ancc one!Overall great book; passed my certification on the first try!!!
Haven't taken the med-surg exam yet but this book is the easiest to understand. It's the best one of the 4 books I bought.
I bought this book in preparation for my CMSRN examination. It is VERY thorough. The questions in the back of each chapter help reinforce the content and the practice exam in the back helped me identify my week areas.I will say that I was a bit worried after studying and taking the practice exam in the back. I didn't do as well on the practice as I thought I should have after studying the book content but I have to admit that the vast amount of information made it hard to focus on the material sometimes. It's like reading a textbook, which we all know can be difficult.I supplemented this book with YouTube in some of the areas I was lacking and I'm happy to say I passed the exam on the first try.
It's decent review material. It won't blow you away, but it's adequate. It could certainly use more practice questions than 10 per chapter plus 150 at the end of the book.
I bought this book a while ago but just recently used it to study for the exam. It had most of the content that I needed, in fact it had more than any one resource that I used. Took the exam today and passed. Good luck
Read the book and reviewed 6 weeks prior to taking the medical/surgical certification exam and passed. I think it would make a good study guide for nurses preparing for their licensing board exam. price hard to beat.
All intensive and fully encompasses what you need to review for the certification exam. Myself and others on my unit have used this book and every single one of us have come out successful. Worth the money you pay.
