I'm not a verified purchaser as I needed this in a hurry and bought it electronically through another medium. I had a week until the test and had bought another, similar book, and found it completely unsatisfactory. After going through it, I found I couldn't answer the questions on the practice test, and sometimes couldn't find the answer in the book even after trying to look up the answer and going to the designated section. There were factual errors on the names and dates of legislative acts, and other issues I can't recall, and I just decided to start over, with one week left. I found this book and bought a digital version and began studying immediately. I spent the week before the test going through this book and making notes, and then I worked through some of the practice tests at the end (I did two of them--one from a lower grade, which I treated as open book, and then my subject grade, which I treated as a real test). I was apprehensive when I took the test as I hadn't spent much time studying for it (a few months is usually recommended), but I got the results back today and I passed with a 185 (my state requires 155). I am very happy and I attribute my score to this book!
I really liked this study book a whole lot. It went more in depth than some others that I had read for this test. I scored well above what I needed on it because of this book. I highly recommend it to anyone.
This was an excellent study guide. It was easy to read and the online Praxis test was great as it showed me exactly what my weak areas were. Now I'm just waiting for the test results.
The book has good information and the theories are linked to classroom application, which is what is required for the PLT examinations. I did have a background of Psychology, so I went through the book in 2 days and appeared for the exam and obtained a high score.
Definitely helped me know what to study and how to prepare. Before I went in, I had no idea what to expect. This book was a great prep resource.
I passed this test on the first try and got a rather high score actually. As long as this book is used with intent, you should be fine.
I highly recommend using this book as a study guide. I read it and took the practice exams, and passed my PLT 7-12 exam with flying colors! It really did help me feel more prepared on exam day.
I started off using this book. I bought it as an e-book. The book was fine, but I preferred the CliffNotes book by Diane Kern. I think it was mainly because I bought the tangible book instead of this book which was an e-book.
