I purchased a few LED displays from the author to play with, and to try to get my 10 year old daughter interested in programming. We were able to get the display up and running relatively easily with an Arduino, and my daughter had fun learning how to make graphics and the program to display them.It's very easy, even if you don't know anything about electronics; a great starter project, and very rewarding to see the finished product.
I like that this was written in plain English. It was very easy to follow - including the code. For someone just starting, these are great projects (read: affordable).
