This is a decent pocket guide, however, it's not clear to me which audience it's trying to address. It claims to include the most common 160 insects in US and Canada, but a lot of insects you observe daily are not in it. When you try to include butterflies, spiders, dragonflies, and all kinds of other insects, you end up sampling each group. There are a handful of butterflies, a couple of dragonflies, a few of that, and a few of this; you get the idea. What's covered in the guide is covered well with good pictures and sufficient information. If your intention is to keep a pocket guide around to learn about some of the insects you see, this book might accomplish that.
