I loved this book and wish it had been available to read to my children when they were still at home. It is full of wholesome stories, some fiction, some non-fiction, full of good values and good writing. I intend to give it as gifts to my grown children as well as other adults who I know will appreciate it's content.
I already have this book, but bought this one for my sweet aunt for Christmas. She loves to read and I know she'll enjoy this book. Her health is failing, thus the short stories will fit in well while her periods of strength hold.
Another great gift for another grandson, in the same family. Fine editor. Stories present opportunities to clarify their own values, to learn from others, and to appreciate fine literature. I am so glad this work was still available.

Great book with a variety of character building stories. Just perfect for a family read aloud, or for quick snatches of reading before bed. Our family loves all of Joe Wheeler's books that we have read.
Stories that are entertaining and offer opportunities to teach lessons and build character are invaluable. Joe Wheeler is well-known for his collections of Christmas stories and stories for the family. What a wonderful way to introduce a child to the joy of reading! Parents, grandparents, teachers, etc. will find these stories heartwarming and well-received by the listeners.
A bunch of great stories like the other two, but has better language than the other two IMO.
