Where will the wind blow next? New York City, 1871. Fourteen-year-old Dane Weston comes home to an empty apartment. A gang of teenage boys has murdered his family, shattering his dream of becoming a doctor. Driven to the streets with other homeless waifs, Dane’s new occupation is begging for food. Worse things await—misunderstandings, imprisonment, and separation from his pretty orphan friend, Tharyn. The gentle breezes of the country seem worlds away, but still they sigh the poor boy’s name. . .

This is a wonderful start to the story of Dane Weston and all he goes through in his 15 years. You fall in love with the character and cannot wait to get to the Frontier Doctor Series, which isall about his life over a span of time. A must read!

I received this book so fast, my neighbor must have mailed it to me. It is a nice unused book and its ready for me to read ;but I have to wait for book 2 to come in first. But I can not wait to read it. If you love children these are some good christian books for you to read. Even your upper level jr high and high school students should enjoy this book. Happy reading!!!

I had read the first 2 books in this trilogy at my local library, but they never did get volume 3. i was glad to get this copy. Warning....if you like these, you will be wanting the next series........!

I picked up the first book at a book giveaway. When I was finished reading I was excited about reading the series. I found this book at a great price. The book arrived rather quickly as I am stationed in Germany. It is in great condition. Can't wait to sit with a good blanket and cup to tea.

This is an informative and sensitive series about a topic that most people in this country are unaware of. The Orphan Train series is one of my favorites. I have ordered two sets, so that I can share one of them with friends, and keep the other one for myself.

This historical novel was full of information new to me. The characters were enjoyable, and it was an easy read. I couldn't wait to see how it ended, and at the same time was sorry it was finished.

30,000 children destitute in New York needing homes; a vision - an idea - put them on trains and take them to the WEST coast....250,000 children found homes from Nebraska to San Francisco!!! precious stories about different children and how they were picked by families and many were adopted....right away!!! So wonderful....even today we have SO many children needing homes!!!

I loved these books...I learned some history, shed a few tears and laughed too. Easy to read.I will definitely order the next trilogy.
