The New Astrology: A Unique Synthesis Of The World's Two Great Astrological Systems: The Chinese And Western
Download Free (EPUB, PDF)

Though the practice of astrology is many centuries old, it is only perhaps once in a generation that a thoroughly new, totally original way of looking at the zodiac is discovered. The New Astrology is such a system. For those convinced that there is nothing new under the sun--or the stars--Suzanne White offers a startling and provocative thesis: There are not 12 but 144 signs of the zodiac, each distinct, each unique, each vital to everyone's quest for self-understanding.By combining the astrological systems of the traditional Chinese (terrestrial) with that of the Occident (celestial), Suzanne White demonstrates that each of us is governed by two signs. Hence, a Capricorn Tiger is likely to be quite different from a Capricorn Cat, as is a Leo Dog from a Leo Dragon, and so on. This unique blend of Western and Chinese Astrology gives detailed analyses of each of the 144 signs, including individualized sections of love, sex and romance, business, money, careers, home life and compatibility (or lack of it) with other signs.Already a best-seller in France, The New Astrology is a massive undertaking and the result of more than a decade of research and study of the two systems. It offers insights into not only our own lives, but also those of all who are close to us. Suzanne White's prose is lucid, candid, and suffused with a sense of fun, but The New Astrology is above all a serious tool for self-awareness and understand the rich variety of human nature all around us.

I'm a professional astrologer/card reader and have been for 20 years. I read this book when it first came out and slowly integrated a tiny bit of its info into my readings. Now, 15 years later, I begin every reading with "What is your date of birth?" When my client says August, 1960 and then tells me her boyfriend was born in February, 1954 I know instantly that she's a Rat and he's a Horse, two of the most incompatible signs ever to lay thier heads on the same pillow. And when Ms. Rat goes on to describe how selfish Mr. Horse is and tells me how she lays awake at night chewing her nails because he borrowed her car and her insurance bill is two days late, well. . . I can help her see that it isn't him or her, it's the connection. Because of what I've learned from this book, I know to steer her toward an easier, less stressful alliance with an equally nervous Monkey or a powerful, protective Dragon. It is nothing less than a FACT that Suzanne White SINGLE HANDEDLY popularized Chinese Astrology in America. Other authors (90% of whom made it to the bookshelf in her wake) may describe the topic in more depth, but they certainly haven't made Chinese Astrology easier to understand nor have they made it easier to apply to life. I know. I've read every book published on the subject and there is none better than Suzanne White's glorious, orginal, powerful New Astrology. Buy it and grow wiser.

I have often read this book after getting to know someone and have been amazed at how close it was...then kicked myself for not reading up on the person before I got too involved with them - could have saved me some rough roads maybe! When I read mine, it was like someone looking over my shoulder and into my head. Kind of spooky really. I have found that sometimes a particular combination didn't fit, but it was usually if they were on a cusp and if I read their cusp sign with their Chinese sign, it was usually much closer or I could pick out traits in each. There was some things in my own combo that weren't currently true but were in the past. Really an amazing book and Suzanne is really funny in her delivery of the information! It feels like she's sitting across from you chatting away. Makes it easy to read. She's obviously a very intelligent and witty. First writer I've ever wanted to actually meet.

This really is the only astrology book you will ever need. I would give it a 10 out of 10 with all other books falling to a 5 or below in accuracy. I read my mother's horoscope to her and her hair seemed to go straight up in the air. After reading a couple to my brother, he went around goggled-eyed for several days. This woman must have a crystal ball! It's weird. She states that I never get out of the house. Not true! I did about a week ago. She says that I have a self-deprecatory sense of humor! NOT TRUE! (lol, huccup, grimace, brb). It is so weird that this is not really an astrology book. It's more a book of Unknown Facts. If you are a kreep like myself, you will want to buy it and get the "goods" on everybody. Just don't look at yours! Mine said I could be vicious at times! Not True. Only when I write reviews for .com. Buy the book if you want the goods on EVERYBODY. Then hide it somewhere. Good luck. You will need it.

Suzanne White's books always amuse me. Some find her writing style a bit on the egocentric side, but I enjoy her off-beat humour. This book is an especially desirable one to own for astrology buffs, because it covers two types in one package. Ingeniously, Suzanne has cleverly combined the East with the West astrology-wise: the results are sometimes striking & surprising but they are always entertaining. White's style of writing is more fun than scientific, which makes the reading experience enjoyable - for most people, anyway. Like Theadora Lao and the late Linda Goodman, Suzanne takes the reader by the hand and guides them with humourous personal observations and episodes, therefore making the reader feel completely at ease and sometimes captivated by the sheer cheekiness of her observations: she doesn't expect us to take astrology TOO seriously. Just a spiritual blueprint for the game of life.

This book contains 90% very accurate descriptions of characters and personality of the 12 chinese signs x the 12 western signs. I got this book many years ago, and it is accurate when I read her readings for my father, sisters and friends. I would say I find her description to be 90% accurate, I think the 10% deviation may be factoring in environmental influence (eg. if she says this person likes to dress up or vain, but sometimes if the person is brought up in a family or culture that doesn't support that, or if the person is not physically attractive, they may do the reverse from low self-esteem etc). But nonetheless, her description of people's personality and character is usually very spot on.I used her book to read several of my girlfriends, it is incredible. The ones Suzzane say that are loving, kind natured, nice,- they are indeed very nice and loving! The ones she says are cheerful and humourous- they are indeed those who like to laugh and joke! She said my father's sign is a 'born winner', she is right too, for my dad worked from a job of a teacher to become a multi-millionaire investor and director. She said I'm the sincere and serious/hardworking type, and I make a livelong good friend, well that's also true as I have many friends whom I knew since kindergarten and primary school!
