Useful, practical anthology text of basic readings in ethics and political science. My major criticism of the book is that there is no indication of the original publishing dates and countries of the material, and the book mixes and matches classic readings from the past centuries with modern pieces. This could be extremely confusing for foreign students or anyone new to political theory. You will be pulling out your smartphone and asking Google for context, which you really shouldn't have to do with a didactic text.
Obviously this book's primary use is for college ethics classes. I'm taking a class called moral choices. Although i don't have the verified purchase logo on because i purchased the book directly from my college's book store let me assure you nobody is reviewing this book unless they actually have it. I hope nobody spends their free time reviewing textbooks they don't own. Overall of all the books i have received this is the one i find most interesting. Let me assure you this book will not make you want to read more then what is required of you but this book will definitely be the most pleasant to read of all your textbooks. Its the material is very digestible the author did a nice job keeping the book easy for students to read and comprehend.Update... as the year progressed unfortunately it got really boring and complex... Euthanasia theirs to much of this was in the book my professor spent weeks.... on this topic I didn't wana hear about
This was used for my graduate school applied ethics course and I really enjoyed it. It provided a great collection of articles by a variety of authors that addressed many different ethical dilemmas our society is facing. I liked that LaFollette chose to show all sides of the issues to help the reader develop their own point of view on the problem.
I needed this for a class, it can be a little dry at times, but it has a lot of good information in it. I am learning a lot from it.
Just what I needed for my class at a more affordable price than offered elsewhere.
Not very easy to follow and the print is super tiny. Haven't learn much from it.
I wanna return it. I got the wrong book.
