I purchased 3-2-1 Code It! for the first time last month. I needed a publication that would be beneficial for beginners and old-timers! This book is excellent! It is easy to read, provides awesome examples, and thus far I have found very few errors in the answer key. I also love the fact that a section of hospital coding is included (ICD9 Volume 3). I appreciate the examples for HCPCS coding as well. The best part is that ICD10 guidelines are listed and it demonstrates the differences between ICD9 and ICD10 coding. The author did an excellent job!Geanetta Agbona CPC, CPC-I, CBCBS[...]

It is poorly written. I would have been helpful to have seen more examples. Thankful our instructor provides the answers to the chapter exercises. However, the explanations in the book are not clear and simple. It would have been better to walk through the nuts and bolts and explain the "whys" along the way. To try and expect us to code something without enough information is unrealistic when you are needing to code to 5th and 6th digits. I spend more time trying to figure out what she is saying and still wonder if I did it correctly. I have to use this book in the online coursework but I cannot say I would keep the book after I am finished the coding portion of the degree I am seeking.

I purchased this book for a course that I am taking. This book is very involved, with a lot to read and many exercises to do within each chapter. It certainly will do (and is doing) what it is intended to do. The instructor uses this as the course text. Hence, the four star rating is mainly because I had to have it. I am not able to say that "I love it".

At first it seemed like a good book until there was no answers to the questions!! So dont waste your money on it unless you get the teachers book to go with it!! For the money you spend on it you should atleast get the answers!!!

This book has too much information that overlaps each other. In addition, the information for ICD 10 should be separate from the ICD 9 to make it easier to read. The explanations could be much shorter than what they are. I am also annoyed at the fact that the book gives you reviews and no answers to confirm you are doing the work correctly. What idiot puts a book together and not provide the answers for review? I will make sure to burn this book and the subsequent work book when I finish this class. If I did not require this class to obtain my degree I would drop it. This book is a joke. No one in my class likes this book and there are 25 of us!

I bought this to use in addition to my text books for college in the Health Information Program. I'm due to graduate in March and this book helps reinforce a lot of information I've already learned as well as prepare for the RHIT exam. Good resource.

I hate that my teacher used this book and workbook to instruct our class. Like many people have commented, I am irritated with the incorrect data and typos in the book. On one page the author is saying 'this' means that and a few pages over the author is saying 'this' means the exact opposite of what was stated previously. This book often leaves out details to make a topic easier to understand. It is so ridiculous this book could never be used to self-teach because you would be very confused. There are no answers for coding practice and the only place you can find answers is to about 30 questions in the back of the book, but it gives no explanation.

Books in great condition. Format and content look good. No answers for practice coding questions OK if you are a student and have an instructor for answers and explanation but if you are doing a self study, you have no guidance.
