I purchased this book as a means of obtaining updated billing procedures. I am doing self study on my own and wanted to prepare for certification test. This book gave information I was already familar with, which is fine, but questions from the text are only availabe for the course instructor through a website. I would not recommened for someone who is already in the medical billing field or not enrolled in a classroom setting, but for a beginner looking for general medical billing basics, it could be helpful.
Material is fine for the course, formatting needs work. This e-textbook is a PDF file of the paper textbook, complete with wide margins (perhaps for note-taking in the paper text]. This made reading the text awkward on my iPad and Mac Kindle apps. I would have liked it better if I didn't have to zoom in on each page to make out the text. I gave a rating of 5 stars because there was no problem with the material.
The book does a good job of explaining the basics of billing and coding. However, it has no answer key to its plethora of exercises and quizzes. It is really as much a workbook as a text, so the exercises would seem to be very helpful if I could get an answer key. I would hesitate to spend the $40.00+ on this book . I am very disappointed and wouldn't recommend it unless it is being used as a text in a setting where the answers to the chapter questions could be accessed.
Book was delivered in excellent condition before the date they said I should expect it. It is exactly as I thought it would be. I won't be nearly as reluctant to order books online after this experience.
