I bought these hoping to use them with my elementary-school class, hoping my students could use them independently. They can't.Sadly, what the cards want the student to do is not always obvious. An adult is needed to read the instruction card that precedes each grouping of cards. Sadly, too, these instructions are not always clear.And don't drop the cards. Cards aren't labeled so you'll end up in a big game of grouping cards that appear to go together.In contrast, I can set my students off by themselves with the Brain Quest decks.Even bought at a discount (, Costco) these cards are too dear.From now on, I'll not buy cards of this sort sight unseen.I'll also not be inclined to give SYLVAN products the benefit of the doubt. I'd assumed SYLVAN was a quality educational company.
Great flashcards for my ESL tutee. He is a motivated first grader. This will be his summer homework. Diego is doing very well in school, and he loves it. He wants to be the best in everything, and he usually is.His parents are extremely supportive of his achievements. Since he learned English three years ago, he has excelled in school and playing with friends as he is an extrovert. He has so much energy and uses it well to play and read.
My kiddos love using this as a math center. They go in pairs and take turns quizzing each other. I love that the concepts are mixed together so they really have to read to find out what it's asking.I teach 2nd grade, so obviously I went through and took out some of the ones that were too high for them.
These cards are great. They cover a variety of math topics that my second grader is seeing in class. Her math assessment scores have gone up significantly since using these flash cards.
Great! My daughter does them all by herself! The cards explain what needs to be done very well!
