I recently purchased this bible for a Catholic bible study class. The Catholic Youth Bible is filled with a vast amount of highly relevant and useful information. Within each book there are boxed articles to explain and illustrate the following: Live It, Pray It, Did You Know, Introducing, Catholic Connection, Cultural Connection, and Catholic Social Teaching. In addition, there are special indexes, color maps, a color biblical timeline, and four pages of full-color biblical photographs and art. And most attractive and pleasing to the eye are the text fonts, colors, and illustrations at the beginning of each book.I highly recommend this bible for teens and adults. My knowledge level and spirituality have been greatly enhanced by studying and referencing this bible during in the past several weeks. I truly believe this bible surpasses most adult bibles on the market.
Great Bible for youth groups and faith formation. There were also very good stories and explanations of many passages that were helpful. My mom liked it and has been a life-long Catholic. She said she learned things from this Bible that she had not thought of or learned before.
The Catholic Youth Bible is a perfect Bible for young tweens and teens (and even adults!) who are just learning about the Bible and how to use it. I have given this as a gift for the 6th grade class for years. At times, the cost has been prohibitive but .COM has come through for several years with an affordable price and the quantity needed at that price.
I purchased this for my 12 year old granddaughter who has such a keep interest in knowing about the Catholic Church and the different sacramentals, sacraments, and everything Catholic. She lives in a home where they don't go to church and when she stays with me, we go every Sunday and at least one weekday a week. She is hungry for the Lord. I used an earlier edition of the translation when I taught Confirmation in our small country parish and was impressed with the messages directed to the teenagers and young adults. This edition continues in those inspirational explanations and I was very delighted to see that when I received this. I pray that my granddaughter will love scriptures as much as I do through this gift and the gift of the Holy Spirit. Amen
I would not recommend this Bible for use with Catholic teens. There is non-Christian content (i.e. - references to Kwanzaa, etc.) that, in my opinion, don't have any place in a Catholic Teen/Youth Bible since they'd seem to be more confusing than anything. If you want a good Bible for Teens, I recommend the Catholic Teen Bible published by Our Sunday Visitor or the Catholic Study Bible (New Testament) published by Ignatius Press. The former is the NAB translation, which is fairly popular among most American Catholics, and the latter is the RSV-CE translation, which is popular among scholars (including Benedict XVI).

This was the bible I needed. I have a good collection of bibles, but being involved in youth activities wanted a translation appropriate for these activities. This fit the bill perfectly and arrived quickly
