It's great for beginners, but it didn't help me much. I learned a few tricks I didn't know before but I certainly needed a longer and more in depth book than this. If you're brand new, this thing's awesome. If you are looking for a bit more in depth knowledge, this book is not for you.
As a beginning stargazer, I picked up this book to help me learn the correct way to observe the stars and planets. This book was great, in that it gave history of how it all started and then explained was to view the night skies. I use a large binocular and tripod, and I can see the craters of the moon on a clear night. Stargazing is a WOW in my book. Check it out.
My Review: This is a great book for star gazers. I have always had a hard time picking out constellations but the diagrams in this book are great. I have the book on kindle now but the paperback is a must. Great to take the kids out in the yard and learn about the stars. A needed book for all shelves. I give this book a 5 star rating.
I bought this book because I want to be able to find the constellations. The book has large, clear illustrations of many constellations, which makes finding them easy to do. A very helpful guide to the night sky!
This is a great book for beginners at star gazing, which is what my wife and I are. It starts with the Big Dipper and works out from there. Looking at the night sky differently now.
Darn near perfect. Naming more of the stars in some of the constellations is the one thing I would ask for. Liked it a lot. Very helpful.
Perfect book for a beginner. Learning a lot!
