Oh this was wonderful! I loved traveling back to this alternate Oz! I can't wait for Yellow Brick War to come out next month.Heart of Tin: 5/5Oh! Poor Tin! I feel so bad for him. Even if I hadn't read the rest of the series, I would have known Dorothy doesn't love Tin. His want for her is pathetic, and if it was towards me I would be severely annoyed, but reading it from his POV breaks your heart. Tin deserved love. Notice the past tense. Obviously, once he let Scare and Glinda take over his heart, he was lost. But before that, he deserved better. The Straw King: 5/5I love that Scare and Lion's stories use stories from the original Oz plot. It was amazing. This Jinjur was a lot scarier that the one from Baum's story though. Hearing Scare's internal monologue is scary. I feel so bad for him at times, but other times, I want to run away from him! Paige did a wonderful job with this one!Ruler of the Beasts: 5/5This one started a little slow for me, but when it picked up, man, did it pick up! Again, it uses some of Baum's original story line, but it is much more fearful. The Nome King in Baum's story is laughable, in Paige's, he is the stuff that nightmares are made of. And Glinda is the Devil reincarnate! Lion is the one I feel the sorriest for.Now I need to go watch The Wizard of Oz where everything ends all happy.

After purchasing the original series to Dorothy Must Die on the morning of June 2, I came across these books later that night. As quickly as I could I decided to purchase these as well. They arrived the day after the first three Dorothy Must Die books (June 8), and I was pleased with my order. I purchased this one, and the second one, so that I could get started on the series. Since I purchased 3 books together I got free shipping which was a pleasant surprise! I've already started reading the first book, and I'm almost done. Haven't started on this one yet, so I can't give a proper review. However, the package was flawless, and none of the books were damaged.

Great stories from Ms. Paige as usual. I liked the way her Cowardly Lion story incorporated some of the events of Baum's "Ozma of Oz." Ozma being my favorite character of the Oz books, perhaps I'm prejudiced in that regard! She shows how the Scarecrow, Tin Woodman, and Cowardly Lion become corrupted through Glinda's evil magic. A great read for young adult readers and others.

I wish I had started this series later, so I could have read these first. Order all the books at the same time because you will go through them all so fast because you need to find out what happens next

Love how there are backstories to these characters. Gave this 4 stars because it didn't make me want to finish it all in one sitting like the rest of the stories, but it was still really good!

I won a signed copy of this via a contest, the stories are amazing, the depiction of the characters is absolutely AWESOME! and to get feedback from the author is absolutely remarkable.

If you are a fan of the "Dorothy Must Die" series, then this is a must have for your collection! It adds clarification for the series!

What a great book. Throughly enjoyable reading. Great companion piece to the novels that Danielle Page has written.
