I had seen this book at a friend's house & wanted a copy for myself, so I knew from the outset that it would not be comprehensive. It does have great photos and useful information however and is more user-friendly than the comprehensive tomes. A good buy!
I like Sutty's photography and the way that the book begins with some very concise descriptions of the different classes of Mollusks. Her collection is not exhaustive, but gives the beginner a good background with a nice Glossary and Index of bothe common and species names. Her picture of the Gaudy Asaphis was clear enough to tweak my memory of a little box my grandmother had which was made from two of those shells. I would have liked a size scale next to her photographs, but the size is listed in the description. I also like her photos of the shells in their habitat - oyster, janthina, etc. Yes, I would certainly buy this book again!
