Dirk Wales' prose is filled with rhythm and ease of description, telling the tale of a lost dog who befriended Jack during the Gold Rush in 1897. Barry Moser's stark, black and white illustrations are lush with detail and expression. A grand friendship and adventure!
Many of Jack London's stories involve memorable dogs. 'Call Of The Wild' of course is his beakout classic. IT features 'Buck' a dog modeled on Jack London's dog 'Jack'. Jack lived with London for a short time during the Yukon gold rush of 1897. This is a wonderful fiction story of what became of Jack after London left him behind. A story of adventure, courage, and friendships between men, dogs, wolves, and a girl. A story that shall involve the interest of both boy's and girl's.Barry Moser's illusrations are relief engravings. Adding a stark cold feeling to the story.
