When it comes to the information on wildlife in Japan there aren't so much reading materials written in English. Japan has wide variety of wildlife species and large parts of unique plants and animals face extinction due to extensive postwar development and some invasive alien species. Mark Brazil's book gives us the clues to Japanese flora and fauna and some of the places where wildlife is rich and need to be protected. Often-covered plights of loggerheads and dolphins are only a part of the picture Japanese ecosystem has been facing. Only drawback may be that some of the information needs updating.Verdict: Enjoy Japan from the eyes of nature conservationists.Rating: 88 out of 100Essential for every nature conservationist as well as birdwatchers. And some eco-tourists.
