These fold out bird guides are great bec you can spill juice or coffee or soda on them and just wipe them off, and they don't get torn up in purses, backpacks, etc. They also don't take up much space. They aren't really paperbacks -they are laminated fold outs.
I thought it was a book or a booklet but it is just a laminated piece of paper folded to technically be called a pamphlet.You could get something with much more information and better quality for about the same price...keep looking is my suggestion.
Description is a bit misleading. This is not a pocket sized book. It's a laminate chart. Definitely not worth the money. You're better off printing a chart of the internet and laminating it yourself!
This fold out picture phamphlet is very good to have around for trips. The problem that I have with this book is that it only shows males, people may become confused at what they are looking at, as far as the birds go. I would suggest this book to be used WITH Birds of Maine Field Guide by Stan Tekiela-this is the book ANYONE interested in what birds are hanging out in the neighborhood for a couple of days before flying off looking for better seeded feeding grounds. Don't use this pamphlet alone. not worth it.
I love these pocket guides. They're easy to pack and perfect for quick identification of common birds.
