It's finally here again, that time when our kitchen is so outdated it's starting to get scary. When we sold our last home, we had the outdated kitchen completely remodeled for a quick sale. The downside of that was that I never really had a chance to enjoy that new kitchen. When we purchased our current home, we noticed the kitchen could use some updating but it wasn't something we couldn't live with. It's now eight years later and we are more than ready to demolish and start new.When I first came across Kitchen Love Story, I wasn't sure what to expect. Looking back, I already had experience from our last kitchen remodel. What could this author tell me I didn't already know?I took in this book and dissected it from beginning to end, more than once and then again, and was glad I did. Finan gives attention to every aspect of a kitchen remodel. She gives you the full picture on how to get your kitchen remodeled will keeping your budget in check. You are provided with the best options, from hiring contractors, all the way down to the cabinet hardware, All from a woman who does this for a living, she has done this over over, again and again. I found this book to be worth it's weight in gold.I'm really glad I came across this book. I now know what I do want and don't want in my new kitchen design. For me, attention to detail became really important after reading this book. Like cabinet pulls - who would had thought that one designing a kitchen should give so much thought to their cabinet pulls. Finan talks about their functionality in proportion to you hands. She taught me how corner cabinets - including those with lazy susans are useless. It's not like I didn't already know my corner cabinets are horrible, but she explains why, and then it all makes sense.
