As a college student taking a philosophy class, I have always been afraid of embarking on Confucian texts mostly because of the infamy surrounding Confucius. However, after reading the book and the excellent editorials, it is safe to say that I was wrong. The book delivers some stellar messages among them being ideas like filial piety, the importance of ritual and observing the past, as well as the impact of Goodness in civil government and its influence of the true gentleman. All topics that can generate really interesting discussions (as they did in my class). If you are fascinated in philosophy and want to read this for leisure, I still stand by my recommendation to give this book a shot.
