I LOVE THIS BOOK. I absolutely enjoy using it. It is easy to use and I will be taking my CRC exam with it in few months. I also use it daily at work for risk adjustment coding. I don't trust a software and websites for coding. It's in color, has helpful hints and tips and each chapter has it's related guidelines at the beginning of that chapter. I probably sound nerdy right now, but for those who share the same passion, you know what I'm talking about.. = P
I like the book; I like the way the codes are listed with vertical lines to help recognize terms and subterms. There is helpful information in the back regarding drugs and their categories and helpful anatomy diagrams. I've only been using it for a month but some of the pages are already starting to come out because the pages are thin and they're coming apart from the spiral binding. You'll have to be extremely gentle when flipping through the pages.
I researched many !CD-10 books and finally decided on this one. I received it on time ( prime) and I have used it a few times when my EHR system isn't specific enough. it is easy to use and i am glad i purchased the spiral bound version.
Optum puts out quality reference material. This particular book had paper residue all around the binders, which took a couple of weeks to dissipate and clear from my desk. The binders are much improved compared to previous ones. With my first book, the paper had already come unraveled from the reams by the second week. This is much improved and a much larger book, of course, because of ICD-10. I definitely recommend it for the material.
For those of us unfortunates who are having another Government hurdle forced upon us......this is a must have manual to get through the new regulations for coding, if only we could get 36 hour days to comply with all that is needed to practice medicine these days.
Very helpful text. In my opinion this publisher has better, more detailed highlights of text. Easier for me to read and utilize than other publishers. Optum 360 is my preferred publisher for my coding books.
This book has a lot of mistakes on the billing codes. We have a lot of billing coming back where they won't pay because we supposedly used the wrong codes. When we looked up the correct codes on line, this book didn't have them listed.Just bought ICD-10-CM 2016 Official Codes Book Perfect Paperback, by PMIC (Author)
Just beginning to use it and it really makes me think and look for correct dx code.
