I had the pleasure of taking this class from the author of this class. Dr. Henderson is not only absolutely excellent teacher, he is an equally good writer. I was not an economics major, and was somewhat fearful about taking "Economics of Medicine" as a class, but this book is thorough, organized, and easy to understand. It is an excellent book for economics majors as well as those majoring in other health care related professions who have an interest in learning more about the current health care system and related policies.
The text is quite dated for a 2005 edition. All of the citations are over 5 years old. The material is written at highly advanced economics level and may not be appropriate as a multi-disciplinary text.
I am currently enrolled in Health Care Administration courses and this book has proved to be very helpful. The explanations are easy to understand. The book is in excellent condition.
It is quite helpful for schooling and is a required text for one of my previous courses. Yes, I would recommend purchasing this textbook for management skills in healthcare.
