I used this book in an introduction to nursing informatics class for BSN. It is packed with great information and an easy read. In my opinion if this book is not required reading you may bypass the book, the authors have a free educational website [...]There is a newer edition of this book out so don't buy this one and there is also a lot of informatics information on the web.
If you buy this book used there is suppose to be a code to access the voice for nursing articles that were referenced in my class but I had no access because the code was used by the original owner. If I would have known that I would have purchased new.
This book is a good textbook for any Nursing Informatics course. It is easy to understand the processes presented today in the nursing world. This book explains in details this new technology in the nursing world. I would recommend this book as a teaching tool for any Nursing techology course.
Again, required reading but soooo very helpful for this technologically challenged person. The price, as with other textbooks, was so much better than in the school bookstore and it arrived in perfect condition. It is a good reference piece to keep.
