I am a nurse, I audit charts all day. My old medical abbreviations dictionary is dilapidated and needed to be replaced. I was pleasantly surprised when I received this one. It is quite thick, which will make lugging it from site to site a slight burden, but the information contained is worth it! This dictionary is about 2 inches thick,and includes everything it lists on the cover. I'm quite pleased. I would suggest this dictionary for any nurse, doctor, medical student, or anyone in the medical profession. Stedman's is a reputable publisher, anyway, and this book is paired with Lippincott. Making it text book quality. I totally recommend this dictionary.
For any nurse or attorney who reviews records this is a must have book. I just purchased the new edition since my old one was worn out. I use it everyday.
I purchased this book used for only a few dollars. Whether you purchase it new or used, I would highly recommend it to any MTEs out there. I have found it to have any abbreviation, acronym & symbol I look for.
Great reference for school! Use it a lot for my coding classes for the abbreviations I don't know. Like the set up.
I bought this book as a gift for a newly certified medical coder....she has found it to be well-organized and very useful as an ancilliary aide to her daily work routine. I would highly recommend it to other new coders.
This book is a must for anyone in healthcare. This book is an excellent resource for looking up various abbreviations and acronyms. Every nursing unit should have this available for reference.
If you need an up to date reference book for medical coding then Stedman's has just the book for you. I highly recommend it.
I love the book. It has been helpful. The only problem is that the pages are coming loose. It was only a few days after I received the book that some pages fell out. Not sure why because it had not been used a lot.
